Today turned out to be pretty good. Started off crappy, but as usual friends made it better, even if you pay out the butt for flipping Panda Express, but oh wellzies. But really what made this day awesome was that Emma is the co-captain for the Color Guard of THE MARCHING CHIEFS. I know you wanted this so much and you really worked your butt off for it. Seeing you come from less than half the song to kicking ass and taking names in your audition made me feel a sense of accomplishment.
It’s like I’m co-captain too. Wait…I don’t know what I’m saying right now.
But seriously girl, you are amazing and you totally deserve this. You went in wanting anything they could give you, and you come out with the second highest position on Guard Leadership. You’re only a freshman. Sure it may feel like we’ve been here for years (God…has it only been 8 months?!) but you’re the only freshman that made leadership in guard. So proud of you. Beyond words. You’re going places. You’re gonna be captain before we leave this place, I guarantee it.
Your passion for performing is so prevalent in all the things you do, your smile lights up the field; and now you get to teach that to the rookies next year. The 2012 season is going to be amazing and I can’t freaking wait.
PS - Just think about it…you’re co-captain of the Color Guard of the largest Collegiate Marching Band in the world.
